Schacht Hand Bobbin Winders are belt driven, has self-lubricating bronze bearing, and is available in single-ended and double-ended models. These make short work of winding bobbins The single-ended winder has a tapered shaft that will accommodate a variety of bobbins up to 6” long, pirns and a variety of large flanged spools up to 9" long. A clamp incorporated into the design of all of our bobbin winders really grips the table/shelf, meaning you’ll never have to hunt around for a “C” clamp again. Single ended is shown on the right side of the first picture, with double ended shown on left side of same picture.
The lace winder is the same as their double end hand winder, with tips that will hold a lace or tapestry bobbin rather than a shuttle bobbin. Like the other manual bobbin winders, the lace winder is belt driven, and has self-lubricating bronze bearings. The lace winder is available only in a double end model. Double ended winders can be used for longer bobbins, pirns and spools. An electric version is available in both the regular and lace style. You choose from the drop down box at upper right.
If you already have a double end hand winder, the tips for winding lace bobbins are available separately. The single end hand winder cannot be converted to wind lace or tapestry bobbins. I keep all these in stock. I am happy to get one of those ordered for you immediately.
Schacht's electric bobbin winder is double-ended and will accommodate bobbins, spools, and pirns up to 9” long and with flanges up to 4” in diameter. An electric winder saves time, especially when there’s a lot of winding to do. The speed of the winder is controlled by a foot-powered rheostat like that of a sewing machine.
