Ashland Bay just came out with a collection of merino/tussah solids in an 80/20 blend of merino 64's (21.5 micron) and tussah silk. This wonderful fiber blend is great for spinning or for any kind of felting project, wet, nuno, or needle. The fibers of this product are blended first, then dyed, so the silk, which takes the dye differently, gives the top a high luster, two tone depth. Ultra fine and silky, Cobalt is a nearly royal blue and quite glossy, courtesy of the tussah. Of course it still has a lovely hand and is "next to skin" soft, with a truly decadent feel to it.
First picture is Ashland Bay's own, but I think this product is a bit brighter than their picture shows. My pictures (the last three) are taken outdoors in natural light, both shade and sun, and I feel they're a bit closer.
