A soft flesh-tone, this is one of the most versatile colorways in the ribbon yarns! ULTRA soft and drapey, this ribbon has a light and wonderful luster. It is the creamy of vintage lace or lightest sand, not at all white but not really any yellow tones either. It is skin toned but does not have the slight rosy tint that First Blush has. Very similar to Heavily Creamed Coffee. Mix it in to lighten a project without brightening it. This shade is fantastic for projects that want for a vintage era look to them, or if you just want a light and brightening hue without the starkness of white or cream. This is a wider ribbon, averaging 1" - 1 1/2". In some places it may be wider or narrower. Yardage varies with ribbon width - a skein of wide ribbon will have less yardage than a skein of the thinner ribbon. If you are looking for thinner ribbon, Sand is similar in color and much thinner. Pictured in varied lighting, the first two photos are most accurate.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile color. Most of these ribbons measure about 1" across, with a few being a bit wider. Some have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for five yards, ten yards or a full skein. Skeins average 30 yards. Choose from drop-down box at upper right.
