The silver of this colorway is a tad more "silver" and even a bit more metallic than its lighter and otherwise similar colorway, Cloud. There is also quite a bit of powder blue in there, like cloudy skies. This REALLY soft and shiny ribbon has a wonderful luster. This medium width ribbon yarn in the softest silver-gray! It would also over-dye beautifully. Areas of this may be as much as 2" wide while other areas are about 1". Use them Phat or tear/cut them into narrower lengths for your needs. This has a small amount of variegation to it with an occasional almost-beige silver because of the over-dyeing of the silks.
This stunning Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Most of these ribbons measure about 1". Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths, tassels or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
