One of my very favorites in the ribbon yarns! ULTRA soft and drapey, this ribbon has a light and wonderful luster. It is the subtle color of vintage lace or l sand, not at all white but not really any yellow tones either. This shade is fantastic for projects that want for an earthy look or vintage era look to them, or if you just want a light and brightening hue without the starkness of white or cream.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile color. Most of these ribbons measure about 1" across, with a few being a bit wider. Some have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, weaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
