- Backordered, shipping soon
Smokey/Dusky base color of lavender, printed with floral or leafy design in slightly darker shades of the same color. The dusky pattern ranges from a shade barely noticeable from the lavender background to an occasional deeper plum color and a few shades in between, as skeins vary from one to the next. Cooling summer/spring colors will add a vintage chic look to your weaving or other projects. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media! Photos taken in varied lighting with the first picture in deep shade with no flash or sunlight to brighten it. It's a darker picture but the color is pretty true. The second and third show detail but are under flash so they make the pink look truer and brighter than it is.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful pastel on white/light, and soothing colorway. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2" to about 1" across with some areas thicker, up to 2" or wider. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for five or ten yards or a full skein. Skeins average 45 - 55 yards, as some ribbon will be wider and others narrower. The wide ribbons can be torn or cut into a narrower ribbon if desired. Choose from drop down box at upper right.
