Ivory to Beige base color with spotting of Moss and Olive Green applied for a wonderful eye catching medley. Some areas are lighter green like a Lichen but still earthy with no bright greens. There is also an earthy blue here and there in this colorway. Occasionally the base color may have an almost flesh tone in small areas but not often. Most of the base is a creamy off white. Excellent for spinning art yarn, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media! This particular ribbon is softer/lighter than most, which are already very soft! If you like soft and earthy greens, you'll love this gorgeous colorway!
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed,frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful earthy, yet soothing colorway. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2" to about 1" across with some areas thicker, up to 2" or wider. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for five yards, ten yards or a full skein. Yardage varies with thickness of ribbon. A skein of thinner ribbon may have 60 yards or more while a skein of wide ribbon may have 40 - 45. The wide ribbons can be torn or cut into a narrower ribbon if desired.
