Super soft and drapey, this ribbon has a light luster and is just beautiful.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile and earthy color. It's more brown and lighter than Taupe. The light is a butter cream or vanilla color. They go beautifully together, creating complimentary shades in soothing earthy shades. Most of these ribbons measure 1/4" to about 1/2" wide, with a few being nearly an inch so there is a lot of yardage to these skeins. Many have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
