Combs are used to align fibers, as is carding, in preparation for spinning into yarn. These handy, lightweight tools have a single row of tines, measuring approximately 2.5" wide.
Made of lacquered beech, these can be used for dehairing & fine fiber combing (well suited for angora or alpaca!). After combing, fiber can be pulled into a sliver or spun straight from the combs. Made from a high grade steel, the tines of the combs are machined so that they are not sharp. Purchase comes with 2 oz premium fiber, just waiting to be combed.
Also available with a double row of tines to produce a perfect slubless sliver from extremely fine fiber. Many fiber workers prefer to use one single and one double so I also offer them as a "pair".
Choose single or double row or even a "pair" of one of each, from drop down box at upper right.
