ULTRA soft (the softest ribbon I've had yet) and airy, this ribbon has a wonderful semi-sheerness with a nubby texture of raised polka dots. This is a one of a kind ribbon yarn in the softest colors! This off-white colorway is an light tan, Ivory, maybe even a darker cream - not bright white or gold but a bit earthy and subtle. I also have hand dyed this in several other colors listed in my shop - Charcoal, Cloud Gray and Berry. There is also a pure white - all listed in my shop (search "nubby" and they will come up:) This is an excellent BOHO or Shabby Chic tone which offers a TON of texture - much more than most of the silk ribbons.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Most of these ribbons measure about 1" across, with a few being a bit wider, up to 2" or so. Some have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths, tassels or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for five yards.
