This is a wonderfully earthy and versatile colorway that is soft and full of texture. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media! Well saturated, it's pretty true to a moss or hunter green with no brightness to it. If you like rich and earthy greens, this is what I would call an almost Moss Green or Forest Green. This is truer green than most moss green with no blue or gray to it but it's not bright like Emerald or Kelly Green. You'll love this gorgeous colorway!
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful earthy, yet soothing colorway. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2" to about 1" across with some areas thicker, up to 2" or wider. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
