This is a wonderfully soft and soothing colorway that is incredibly soft and full of texture. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media! This particular ribbon is softer than most, which are already very soft! If you like soft and earthy greens, you'll love this gorgeous colorway!
I had this ribbon dyed in the Golden Pear dye colorway. It is the color of a fresh crisp golden-green pear. Just Yummy!
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful earthy, yet pastel toned colorway, similar to the inner ribs of celery where there is no real true green. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2" to about 1" across with some areas thicker, up to 2" perhaps occasionally. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
