Fall Foliage Splatter Dyed Multi Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon

Hand painted in special ordered colors of fall foliage. Super soft and drapey, this earthy colorway is rich and full of multi-faceted tones of rust, gold, nutmeg, copper, a bit of saffron, hunter green and sienna.  As colors blend together, they create even more shades in-between. Colorful, yet earthy in tones. In the Northeast we really look forward to and celebrate fall's wonderful turning of the trees. This colorway would be the middle, or "peak" of fall when all the rusts and golds are a standout amid the green evergreens on the mountains. There is not a lot of the brighter saffron in these skeins, so the smaller 5 or 10 yard portions may have very little or none of that shade. These pictures were taken in all lighting - outside in natural shade, (3rd pic), dappled sunlight (1st pic) and indoors (middle pic). 

Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some of these ribbon skeins are overdyed, which creates fantastic shading and a great range of similar hues. Some of the ribbon is sheer, some with a satiny shine while others are matte. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a unique and yummy colorway. A bit Phatter than some of my colorways, most of these ribbons measure 3/4" to 1", even 2"  across in some areas, with a few having lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths, tassels or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.

Listing is for 5 yards, 10 yards or a Full Skein. Full skeins average 40 - 50 yards, depending on width of ribbon. Choose option from drop down box at upper right. 

Probably not color fast, so don't wash with anything else. These stunning skeins can be used in their entire lengths or are great for projects where you need smaller lengths of LOTS of colors. Just cut up a foot of this one, 8 inches of that one,....
