Super soft and drapey, this earthy color is deep and multi-faceted. Lovely bright Coral color with occasional pattern of embroidered gold designs.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some of these ribbon skeins are overdyed, which creates fantastic shading and a great range of similar hues, though there is less variation in this colorway than most. Some of the ribbon is sheer, some with a satiny shine while others are matte. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a unique and yummy colorway. A bit thinner than some of my colorways, most of these ribbons measure 1/4" to 3/4" across in some areas, with a few having lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths, tassels or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
