Louet's Erica is a compact table loom with either 11 ¾“ ( 30 cm) weaving width or the 19 3/4" (50 cm). Quick and easy to fold down and set up, even with a warp on it, the Erica is an attractive alternative to a rigid heddle loom and offers even more possibilities as a great entry level loom to multi-shaft weaving - comes standard with 2 shafts and handles to control them, with the option of 3 or 4 shafts either now or later. It's even EASIER to operate than the rigid heddle looms, with a more even warp tension, a large easy-working shed of 1 3/4" (4.5 cm) and more flexibility in the number of threads per inch/cm. AND this little lady makes an excellent travel loom! The option to expand it to 3 or 4 shafts will make it an even more interesting alternative providing a palette for more complex weaving patterns. Shafts may differ within an ordered loom Ericas are only being made in the 2 shaft model with the additional shafts added to the ordered 4 shaft models. Shafts can be metal sided, plastic sided or both in a loom. A Great loom for beginner and experienced weavers alike as there are no other looms like the Erica!
The loom is made of unlacquered beech and laminated birch (finishing wax available with loom for $17.50 more and no additional shipping), arriving unassembled with full instructions. It comes complete with built-in raddle, 10 DPI stainless steel reed (40/10), 200 Texsolv heddles (150 mm) and lease- and tie-up sticks. The folded size On the smaller Erica 30 is 22" X 19 1/8" X 6 3/8" (55 x 48 x 16 cm) and it weighs under 8 pounds.
