Super Wide Range of richly colored browns from light to dark chocolate, super soft and drapy, this ribbon has a light luster and is just beautiful. Deep brown with a slight rosy hue (much more brown than red) and thinner than some of these ribbon colorways - thinner areas are as narrow as 1/2" and wider areas as wide as 1".
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile and earthy color. The last one had sun shining on it which added a golden hue, which it does not have. Many have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
