Wonderfully soft and full of texture. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media!
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some of these ribbon skeins are overdyed which creates fantastic shading and a great range of similar hues. In this wonderful colorway you'll find the stunning colors of Sea Glass, those yummy little gems you can find at the seashore. The brightest color here is a pretty saturated Aqua, which blends into a creamy ivory. Where they begin to blend there is the loveliest hues of mint, seafoam and the lightest aqua. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture and uniqueness. Ribbon thickness is mostly on the thinner size from 1/2" - 1". Use them phat or cut them into thinner ribbon as these are SO VERSATILE! Shown in different lights, this is a really muted, vintage themed colorway. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for five yards, ten yards or one skein, approximately 3 - 3.5 ounces (100 gm). Yardage varies with thickness of ribbons. Average yardage 40 - 45 yards on skein.
