The truest gold color in the ribbon yarns! Soft and drapey, this ribbon has a light, earthy and subtle luster, looking very much like "Black Hills Gold" - not bright. It is a bit lighter and brighter than the gold of Honey blonde. Excellent for Christmas and fall projects, as well as earthy projects looking for a little pop. This subtle and earthy shade is fantastic for projects that want for a shabby chic or vintage era look to them.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile color. Most of these ribbons measure about 1" across, with a few being a bit wider. Some have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, weaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
