Fabulously SOFT!! This was a special order to get since I couldn't find anymore of this shade after running out of the first batch. I tried several times with my original supplier (even sending samples back and forth) and finally had to go with a new dyer. This is HANDS DOWN, the best selling color of all time for me. Check out the adorable fairy made by customer and fiber artist Carmen, using this ribbon, shown in 2nd to last pic and a yummy curtain/wall hanging made by Kathleen in the last photo.

Super soft and drapey, this earthy ribbon has a light luster and is just beautiful. A pink/skin tone, this is a barely-rose tinted very light mocha color about as tan as it is pink - nothing bright at all. And did I say SOFT? This color was originally a special request and it took me a good six months to get more because the likelihood of getting an exact match in future orders is slim. One of my very favorites - excellent in smokey color schemes, earth toned or shabby chic, BOHO projects! There are also occasional brighter pink highlights/embossed color, even stitched design here and there for a pretty and visual texture.

Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile and earthy color. It's more brown than Taupe, listed elsewhere in my shop, which brings with it more of a gray influence. Most of these ribbons measure 3/4" to about 1" wide, with a few being a tad over an inch. Many have lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.

Listing is for five yards.
