Wonderfully soft and full of texture. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media!
As I was listing this and trying to think of a fitting name, I looked out my window and noticed lovely Bee Balm in the garden, with their perky little jester hats of Ruby and Magenta. Perfect! First two photos are most accurate. Wonderfully soft and full of texture. Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media!
The Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some of these ribbon skeins are overdyed which creates fantastic shading and a great range of similar hues. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture and uniqueness. Ribbon thickness is mostly on the medium size from 3/4" - 1 1/2". Use them phat or cut them into thinner ribbon as these are SO VERSATILE! Shown in different lights, this is a really "feel good" summer themed colorway. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
Listing is for 5 yards, 10 yards or a full skein. .
