This great little upgrade kit will increase your ratios from three to ten! It also raises the orifice height, which is otherwise rather low on the wheel, raising it from about 19 1/2" to about 25". Without the accelerator, the Pollywog has three ratios (Low, Medium, High) which are 1:2.5, 1:4.5, and 1:10 respectively. The Pollywog Accelerator has 10 ratios, and here is how you can find them. On the back of the head you will find three speeds for the drive band. Only the two fastest (smaller) speeds work with the accelerator. This makes for much faster spinning without your having to treadle so fast, for easy spinning of your lace weight yarns. Easy to install, needing no tools.
With this kit, your Pollywog will have these 10 accelerator speeds
1:22, 1:17, 1:15, 1:13, 1:11, 1:10, 1:8, 1:7, 1:6, 1:5
