*****PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION***** I have had several negative feedbacks on this product and every time it's that the buyer DIDN'T READ THE DESCRIPTION. For those of you buying five yards, if you're not sure how much this is, lay out a tape measure to 15 feet/5 yards. That's how long a 5 yard portion of this ribbon will be. If you don't have a tape measure, take five full strides. This will be how long a 5 yard portion will be. In 5 yards, there will only be 3 - 5 colors/patterns. NONE will look exactly like any one picture you see in this listing as NO two skeins or yardage portions are alike. Most of the negative feedbacks say it didn't look like the picture. Which picture? There are 10 photos and most photos contain 3 Full Skeins, to show what a variety there is in these ribbons, as it says in the description below.... No skein will be all jewel tones, or all floral - they are all mixed.
I just got a huge new load of these and they are the most beautiful I've ever had. I asked for these to include lots of patterns sewn in, as well as solid colors. These stunning skeins can be used in their entire lengths or are great for projects where you need smaller lengths of LOTS of colors. Just cut up a foot of this one, 8 inches of that one,....
Please note that pictures are of several full skeins in each photo, to show how much variety there is among and between these skeins. I tried to get as many photographed as possible. These skeins are all 100% unique, so there are thousands of color combinations you may receive and none will look exactly like any one picture here. Most of these are a mix of earthy and deeply colored jewel tones, while others may be more floral, moody or even a few brights within a skein. As you can see from the last photo, some are almost monochromatic, with primarily grays, black and whites so if you order without a note that you are looking for ****, you may get something you don't like or cannot use at all. Most are NOT BRIGHT, as the patterns seem to show up more against the earthy or lighter tones. You may see one you love and one you don't like at all. If you don't tell me what you like, you may get the one you don't like at all, so please leave a note as to your preference of pastels, jewels, earth tones, monochromatic, etc... and I will do my best to send your order with something you like. If you DON'T LIKE a certain color, let me know and I will avoid sending a skein with a lot of a color you don't like. If you like BRIGHT, check out my Persian Bazaar Solids. They are bright.
The number and variety of colors found in a full skein will NOT be found in the smaller, 5 or 10 yard portions because the colors run about a yard long or even two at a time and there can be duplicates of colors, which don't really matter in a full skein but will limit colors in a smaller portion. These can vary in yardage from skein to skein because the width of the ribbon can range from 1/2" to 2 or even 3". I purchase this by weight so a skein containing wide ribbon may only have 30 - 40 yards and a skein with narrower ribbon can have 45 - 55 yards. The first picture is of three skeins together to show all the possible colors. One skein may be heavy on blues or orange/golds, while the next skein may have little of either. PLEASE NOTE that each and every skein is 100% different from any others, with some being deep and moody, while others may have brighter tones, earthy or jewel tones. If you have a preference as to "florals" or "earthy" colors, let me know in the instructions to seller box and I will try and send a skein closest to that description. If no preference is noted, I will just grab whatever skein is at the top of the bin.

Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. In these colorways there are Greens (both bright and earthy), Reds (bright and earthy), Purples, Teals, and Golds, Rust, Rich Browns, as well as a few light pastels. Some sections will have patterns. Some of these ribbons are 3/4" - 1" but some measure as much as 4+ inches across, with a few having lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Every skein is absolutely unique. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug or wreath making, or plying into your OOAK yarns. If you prefer bolder, earthier, more floral colors, or any other preference such as more golds, reds, etc..., just include a note in the "instructions to merchant" section of your order. There will most likely be NO 5 or 10 yard sections containing 1 exact color you like, so to be safe, stay with general shades like "earthy" or "bright", etc... Or just tell me a color you don't like and I will try and avoid a portion with that in it. Patterns are usually not bright, but enormously varied. These skeins are all one of a kind and as such, have a great deal of variety in both colors and shading. With the ribbon being so wide, there is a lot of silk material to a yard, much more than the thinner ribbon colors. In the smaller sections, such as the 5 or 10 yard pieces, there will not be as many colors represented or as much variance in thickness.
