Super soft and drapey, this earthy color is deep and multi-faceted. I have a North American High Bush Cranberry growing just outside my office windows. I love watching as the berries mature, seeing the color deepen as they ripen. This colorway contains all of those hues (once they're past the green stage:-) Highly saturated and deep (deeper than my camera can pick up - pics are too "red" and bright) yet quite earthy in its own right, this one has everything from a wine, tomato, ruby and even a truer red in there. Every skein is one of a kind because of the over-dyeing.

Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some of these ribbon skeins are overdyed, which creates fantastic shading and a great range of similar hues. Some of the ribbon is sheer, some with a satiny shine while others are matte. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a unique and yummy colorway. A bit Phatter than some of my colorways, most of these ribbons measure 3/4" to 1", even 2" across in some areas, with a few having lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Use them as they come or strip them into really thin ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths, tassles or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.

Listing is for five or ten yards or a full skein. Yardage on a full skein varies with the thickness of the ribbon but most average 50 or so yards.

I ship every day but Sunday. Your order will go out immediately!
