This is a "makes ya feel good!" colorway that is incredibly soft and full of texture. Its shading falls between my Rubbed Sage (a shade or so brighter) and Basil (several shades lighter.) It is similar to the mint center in an Andis mint (LOVE those:-) Excellent for spinning, weaving, jewelry making, scrap-booking and fantastic mixed media! This particular ribbon is softer than most, which are already very soft! If you like soft and brightening greens, you'll love this gorgeous colorway!
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. Some edges are fringed, frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is a beautiful earthy, yet soothing colorway. Ribbon width ranges from 1/2" to about 1" across with some areas thicker, up to 2" or wider. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage, wreaths or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug making, or plying into your OOAK yarns.
