This listing is for the "Brights" in the Ashford Corriedale fiber, pictured first and second. While all their color collections are pictured in this listing for comparison, "Darks" and "Lights" are offered and described in their own listings.

A sumptuous soft Corriedale sliver in 1, 2 or 4 ounce portions.Because of listing/sales fees, a 1 oz portion is not as economical to buy as the larger portions, but we offer it because we know some folks just need a little bit of each color. I have a limited number of color charts available and listed in the drop down box of portions.

Arguably the best Corriedale sliver offered on the market today, Ashford wool sliver is 100% pure New Zealand wool. Their wool is grown on sheep farms in the South Island of New Zealand where the sheep graze on large grassy paddocks and are free from mulesing. They only use wool with good length that is free from breaks, has high bulk, brightness, low vegetable matter and is the correct micron. The wool is washed using a standard aqueous treatment with eco-friendly biodegradable detergent. Then in their very own woolen mill in Milton, their staff ensures every process is to the highest standard. They start by dyeing the wool using ecologically-safe Oeko-Tex compliant dyes (detailed information can be found at www.oekotex.com), then steam dry, card, gill, comb and finally wind into bumps. The sliver is then ready to use with no waste or preparation.
