This wonderfully soft and silky blend is 60%Polwarth top/40% tussah silk. Definitely "next to skin" soft, it's got the luster and silkiness of tussah, staple and strength of polwarth wool. Noted for it's elasticity and durability, it is still considered a delicate fiber with lovely bounce and drape. This blend carries a nice staple length of 5 - 6" and is excellent for spinning, blending and plying. The long staple is a real bonus for new spinners!
This lovely top carries a generous portion of luxurious silk to be even more lovely than the more typical 85/15 Polwarth/Silk blends. Popular with felters and spinners as it adds additional shine and luxury to garments and yarns.
