This is the most wonderful dyed mulberry silk brand I have ever seen. Superior Softness, Luxurious Luster and Drape. Ash is a deep brown/gray, like certain ash colors. Ashes themselves can be of different colors/shades, depending on what has been burned. This one is as much brown as it is gray. Deep and dark yet incredibly elegant. My camera keeps wanting to flash because of the dark color. The wonderful silk luster creates a back-flash so I couldn't photograph it under flash, hence the slow shutter speed and the slight blurriness. First picture is the manufacturer's and very accurate. Last was in bright light and looks too gray. This fiber is so stunning, I'm at a loss for words to describe it. Even as dark and neutral as it is, it can't help but add bling. Blend it in to your art batts, spin it into the most gorgeous yarn with luxurious hand. This will make an impression no matter what you choose to do with it! This amazing silk is carefully selected to ensure constant quality over time. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in DHG's dyeinghouse which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified. Mulberry silk, also called Bombyx or Cultivated silk, is the world's finest silk, prized for its incredible luster, fineness and strength. This silk top is a top-quality combed preparation, ready to spin! This incredible silk can be easily over dyed with acid dyes including food coloring and drink mix, and also with fiber reactive dyes for an incomparable fiber with breathtaking vibrancy. Also excellent for spinning, felting or blending. It will add super softness, buttery silk feel, and wonderful luster to any craft it's used in.
