Ashland Bay just came out with a collection of merino/tussah in neutrals or solids in an 80/20 blend of merino 64's (21.5 micron) and tussah silk. This wonderful fiber blend is great for spinning or for any kind of felting project, wet, nuno, or needle. Ultra fine and silky, Salt and Pepper is a blend of ecru merino and black silk, making it a gray streaked overall color. Of course it still has a lovely hand and is "next to skin" soft, with a truly decadent feel to it.
Pictured outdoors in natural light, both shade and sun. The last picture is Ashland Bay's own and not taken as close up as mine. From a little ways away it looks just like a streaky gray, from light to charcoal.
