The Ashford Doffer Stick – Awl is designed to safely lift and remove fiber batts from the large drum without damaging the carding cloth or teeth.
Crafted with a smooth metal tip and a sturdy wooden handle, the doffer awl fits easily into the drum’s doffing groove, helping you cleanly separate the fiber so you can remove the batt by hand. It's also useful for teasing apart stuck fibers or gently cleaning buildup between teeth.
This tool is included with most new Ashford drum carders, but is also available as a genuine replacement or spare.
Compatible with the Ashford Standard, Fine, and Wild Drum Carders.
