Yes, these really are this lustrous, textured and colorful! This was ordered special from my one supplier who will customize enormous orders for me. These skeins are the most beautiful EVER!!! Brighter, softer and more lustrous than the same color non-fuzzy sari ribbon. This primarily black silk ribbon has frequent sections of eye-popping color sewn in. You'll find some subtle, earthy tones like golden tans and rootbeer browns but also hot pinks, ultraviolets, reds, blues and an occasional pattern. Super Soft, Stunning Colors and MAJOR Texture! These new skeins are just fabulous! I request particular color schemes and my supplier always accommodates me in that. These are breathtaking:-)) Pictured in the last two photos are the extra bright Fuzzy Persian Bazaar and the Fuzzy Crimson Craze, which I also carry in my shop.
Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful yarn. In these colorways there are Greens (both bright and earthy), Reds (bright and earthy), Purples, Teals, and Golds, Rust, Rich Browns, as well as a few light pastels. Some sections will have patterns. Some of these ribbons are 3/4" - 2" but some measure as much as 3 - 4 inches across, with various widths of lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Every skein is absolutely unique. Use them phat or strip them into thinner ribbon. Embellish scrapbooks, book covers, scarves, art yarn, luggage or purse straps, even jewelry. Great in weaving, rug or wreath making, or plying into your OOAK yarns. These skeins are all one of a kind and as such, have a great deal of variety in both colors and shading. With the ribbon being so wide, there is a lot of silk material to a yard, much moe than the thinner ribbon colors. In the smaller sections, such as the 5 or 10 yard pieces, there will not be as many colors represented or as much variance in thickness. I am almost out but have more of this on order.
