Ashland Bay created this beautifully rich and earthy shade of red and called it Cinnabar. This is Ashland Bay 64’s (21.5 micron) merino roving and is next to skin soft. It is a great year-round color and wonderful for those times you want something other than a true red. Slightly more brown to it's hue than Ashland's red or coral, and not at all bright like Ruby. My camera is seeing much more brightness than is actually there and is also tinting it with more orange. This color is actually the base in Mohavie, an Ashland Bay multi in reds with an earthy southwestern flair. I will combine it in an Ashland Bay Expanded Reds grouping as well, pictured last. A very high quality merino, this is excellent for spinning, wet and nuno felting and even needle felting.
