Yummy Ashland Bay Premium Cheviot. This roving is phat & springy, and has a fantastic handle as well as nice staple. The micron on this is 27 - 31 but the feel is that of a finer wool, suitable for "next-to-skin" garments. Durable Cheviot takes dye beautifully and is great for sock yarn. I mixed Alpaca and Cheviot for sock yarn and it turned out wonderful!
Cheviot is an excellent fiber for new spinners because it's not at all slippery and has that lovely bounce to it. Because it's so lofty, it is also excellent for felting and core wool!
