This yummy fall color handspun banana silk yarn is Magenta, as bright pink as they come. It is not as red as my camera is making it. It's a lightening/brightening color that can be used in a gazillion ways. Soft and buttery, with just enough weightiness to give it drape, it's wonderful for plying with other yarn, weaving, felting in or over, scrap-booking, mixed media, and a ton of other ideas. The variegation with different lights, its medium luster, occasional fuzziness and Thick & Thin bulkiness, will add tons of physical and visual texture and personality to whatever you use it in.
Handspun from banana silk, a popular fiber from the Indian clothing manufacturing. No silkworms are harmed in the making of this vegan fiber. It is a fair trade product, enabling women to earn a living to help support their families. Each spinner has her own style and therefore, each skein of yarn is one of a kind. Many of these yarns have a yummy fuzziness to them here and there. Some are thick and thin, some more evenly spun. There is light variation in the luster throughout this yarn, which really grabs your eye. The sleeker areas have high luster and the slightly fuzzier areas are a bit less so. This yarn is absolutely gorgeous. Some may have similar yardage but are weightier than others. All have incredible texture. Great for plying into art yarn or felting onto nuno scarves for a nubby physical and visual texture. Choose your yardage of skein from the drop-down options box at upper left.
Skeins average 20 - 30 yards, depending on weight/thickness.
