Also called Golden Flash by some distributors, this little devil is very difficult to photograph. The base color is a bright, stark white but it reflects gold. It is Hot Fix. I tried photographing it in bright light, natural light and under flash. In darker lighting it seems to reflect a bit of green/gold but out in the brighter light, just gold. The first is, by far, the most accurate. Second and third pics show the brightness and sparkle correctly but are not picking up the gold as much. I adjusted those pictures to show the little gold my camera picked up, but it made the white base look dull, which it's not. So while not actually adding color to your felt, yarn, batt or rolag, it will add the reflection of gold sparkle and "perk up your project".
I have a limited amount of 8" long staple in this color. The 8" is also a low denier/very fine and soft, softer than most Angelina.
Angelina is a very unique fiber, both light reflective and light refractive. A fun and fantastic embellishment fiber, adding depth, dimension, visible "texture" as well as bling. You'll frequently see it mixed in with yarn, felting, art batts and the like. For spinning or making art batts (or rolags), just a few fibers do a lot! Blended with other fibers in amounts as small as 2%, it gives sparkle and highlight to your projects, whether it's yarn, batts or felt. You can just "add a tad" while spinning singles or sprinkle a bit into your carder or blending board to liven up any color mix. To felt, simply lay it on top of your project or between your wool and the wool will tack it down. If layering between the wool, you'll want just a thin over-layer of wool so that you don't hide the wonderful sparkle and brightness of the Angelina. This color is great for when you want to add dimension and bling without changing the color at all. The first picture is the most correct. My camera doesn't pick up the subdued accents in this beautiful fiber and makes it look too one dimensional.
